Udupi: Christmas ‘Snehakoota-2014’ held at Shirva

Udupi, Dec 23: Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva Unit organized Christmas ‘Snehakoota- 2014’ in collaboration with Catholic Sabha Udupi, on December 21 at Shirva.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Prasad Shetty, Kuthyar said, “Any religion and political theory will not create unity among Indians. Infringement and conflicts between religions will hinder the comprehensive development. National harmony and unity can be achieved only through ‘patriotism concept’, not on the basis of religion”.

Maulana PMI Ashraf Amsadi, headmaster of HIM Arabic school, Hejamadi said, “All religious values propose the same theme. Every religion upholds the humanity values. If we start to fight on the basis of religious indifferences, then neighbouring countries will easily take its benefits. So, people should have the conscious about such things”.

He added that, ‘We can achieve brotherhood by celebrating such religious feasts with each other”.

“Today we have everything but humanity values are decreasing. Let us be human first by collectively practicing such religious feasts”, said by Stany Tauro, parish priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva.

Ida Gibba D'Souza, ZP president, Shirva village panchayat, vice-president Shalet Deepika D’souza, a delegated presidents of Udupi Catholic Sabha William Machado and Leena Machado, Catholic Sabha Shirva Unit, Treasurer Stany Pinto and others were present on the occasion.

Melwyn Aranha, president Catholic Sabha Shiva Unit welcomed the gathering. Leo Noronha delivered the vote of thanks. Gilbert Pinto compered the programme.
