Mangaluru: Biker waylaid, cash, ornaments worth Rs 8 lac robbed

Mangaluru, Dec 24: In a surprising incident, a person moving in his motor bike was intercepted and robbed on the road near the newly built over-bridge at Chokkabettu near Krishnapura, Suratkal. Cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 8 lac were snatched away from the motor bike rider.

Muhammed Sharin (29), a native of Iddya Guddekopla near Suratkal was going by his motor bike when he was robbed. It is said that Sharin had been requested over phone by his neighbour, K M Naheem, to deliver Rs 1.5 lac in cash and 30 sovereigns of gold ornaments to a super bazaar being run by Naheem's uncle, after collecting the same from a super market in Chokkabettu.

Sharin accordingly collected cash and gold ornaments, placed them in a plastic bag, and was moving towards Bondel, when two unidentified persons approached him from the opposite direction and blocked his way. They threatened him by flashing sharp weapons at him, snatched away the plastic bag containing cash and ornaments, before escaping in their two-wheeler,it is said.

A complaint was registered in Suratkal police station in this regard. The police, who have registered a case, are investigating..

    Here should be the man who asked the biker to carry the ornaments questioned.Otherwise who knows about this and how?
