Bhatkal: Majlis-e-islah wa tanzeem completes 102 years

Bhatkal, Dec 24: "Majlis-e-islah wa tanzeem, Bhatkal, a social organization which has completed 102 years, will organize a four day event to enlighten the next generation about its history and successful achievements," Muzammil Kazia, president of the organization said in a press conference to announce the event.

Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaia, president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and president of Nadwa-tul-Ulema Lucknow Maulana Sayyad Mohammed Rabey Hasani Nadvi amongst many other dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion with their presence. The district in charge minister R V Deshpande, Uttara Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde, former Union minister K Rahman Khan, MP Maulana Israr ul Haq Qasmi, president of Majlis-e-Ittihad-ul-Muslimeen Asaduddin Owaisi, Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya, health minister U T Khader, Dharmstala's religious leader Veerendra Heggade, Minister Qamarul Islam and C M Ibrahim are some of the other dignitaries expected to attend the programme.








Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadvi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Tanzeem commercial complex in Nawayath colony on December 24 while the opening ceremony of the centenary event will be held on December 25. A seminar on the topic of 'improving economy' will be held to cater to the predominantly business oriented community.

Muzammil said that prominent national level media commentators and experts have been invited to clear the misinformation and misunderstandings about Bhatkal. A cooking competition for women and cultural program will also be held as part of the centenary programme. An All India Urdu Mushaira program where prominent Urdu poets will participate. This will be held on December 28, the last day of the programme. The centenary programmes will be held in Nawayath colony YMSA ground.

Tanzeem, general secretary, Mohiddin Altaf Kharuri, convener of centenary programme, Abdullah Damudi, convener public relation committee, Siddique DF, Vice President of Tanzeem S M Parvez, Inayatullah Shabandari, Abdul Raqib M J Nadvi, Ateequr Rahman Shabandari, Azeezur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi, Yasir Barmavar Nadvi and others were present in the press conference.

Tanzeem president K M Muzammil told reporters here that the organization was established in 1912 to help the Muslim community grow educationally, culturally and politically.

The organization has also been spreading the message of brotherhood among all castes and creed.

He said the organization has been awarding scholarships to students apart from lending its hand to the government during natural calamities.

He said Moulana Syed Mohammed Rabe Hasani Nadwi, president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, will inaugurate the event in the presence of JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, District Minister R V Deshpande, former Union Minister K Rahman Khan and KPCC president G Parameshwara. Lok Sabha member Ananth Kumar Hegde and MLA Mankal Vaidya will be the guests of honor.

On Friday, a business session and cultural programmes will be held.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Minister U T Khader, Deputy Chairman of Karnataka State Planning Commission and MLA Zameer Ahmed will attend the programme.

Later, a session on communal harmony will be held in which Swami Agnivesh, Moulana Ilyas Jakti Nadvi, Simon Tellis and other scholars will take part.

A media session and All India Urdu Mushaira will be held on December 28.
