Mangaluru, Dec 26: The powerlifters from Karnataka participated in Subrata Classic International Powerlifting Championship 2014 held at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India from December 16 to December 21, 2014. They won several medals in various body weight and age group categories.

The powerlifters reached Managalore Central railway station on December 25 and were welcomed by Karnataka power lifting Association and huge crowd of sports lovers. Participants from six different countries took part in the above championships.

The medal winners are as follows:

1. Mahammad Rameez - 1 gold, 1 Silver

2. Pradeep Kumar - 1 gold, 1 Silver

3. G.V. Ashok -1 Gold

4. Krishna Devadiga -2 Gold

5. Yadava Suvarna -2 Gold, 1 Bronze

6. Ashwin -1 Silver, 1 Bronze

7. Mohammed Haneef -1 Gold, 1 Bronze

8. Merina Devi -1 Gold

9. Usha B.N -2 Gold

10. G.R. Mahesh -1 Gold, 1 Silver

11. Suresh Padukone -1 Silver, 1 Bronze

Sathish Kumar Kudroli participated as the coach of the Indian Team.
