Kundapur, Dec 27: An 18-year-old girl who got married to a man due to pressure from her family members six months ago, and who left him and came back to her parental house before going missing, was found to have come in a truck to Kundapur on Friday December 26.

The girl, from K K Pura in Belagavi, and Rajeev Naik (32) from the same town, who happens to be a truck driver by profession, were part of this real life drama that seemed to entertain a big crowd here on Friday.

It has transpired that the girl was deeply in love with a youth from her town. But, under pressure from parents and other family members, she had married a person chosen by her parents about six months back. As quarrels and frictions seemed to be the order of her daily life at her husband's place, it is gathered, she deserted the home of her in-laws and returned to her parents a few days back.

It is said that the lady went missing from her house all of a sudden on Thursday December 25 afternoon. On Friday afternoon, she created a scene after reaching the town, with the truck driver who had brought her in his vehicle here, and as a consequence, found herself in police station.

On Friday afternoon, the truck was found parked in front of the ticketing office of a well-known transport company. The truck driver escorted the girl into this office. For reasons unknown, a fierce fight broke out between the girl and the truck driver, after which a large crowd gathered in front of the transport office. The police had to intervene in the matter, after which both the driver and the girl were taken to the police station.

The girl claimed that she had left her parental home as she was mentally drained. At Yallapur, she said, she hitchhiked a truck that had come from her hometown. She stated that she came here in that truck, and trouble broke out when she was about to return to Belagavi.

The policemen thereafter contacted her parents, who promised to come here and take her back to Belagavi. It is learnt that her parents have already started their journey to this place from Belagavi for this purpose.
