Mangaluru, Dec 29: Parents of a minor girl have complained to Moodbidri police regarding the attempt of rape on their minor daughter. The accused is also a minor.

As per the complaint, the boy aged 17, a resident of Makki in Shirthadi village , had called the girl from the neighbouring house aged 15 to the shop nearby. The girl who knew the boy went there without suspecting. The boy then took her to a bathroom forcibly and allegedly attempted to rape her.

The boy only fled from the scene after the girl resisted and shouted for help. It is said that the girl has been suffering from heart ailment.

The boy and girl belong to the same community. The parents of the victim had complained to the Jamath regarding the case. But the Jamath which questioned the boy did not take any action.

Moodbidri police inspector Anantha Padmanabha and his team which took the boy into custody for interrogations have handed over him to rehabilitation center.
