Kundapur: Tipper hits tree - one killed, another injured

Kundapur, Jan 2: A tipper truck, which was moving at considerable speed, hit a tree at Kuntige road bend on Hosanagara-Sonale Road on Thursday January 1. The tipper was used for transporting sand.

Driver of the truck, Harish (27), died on the spot in this accident. A person named Manjunath (37) from Gadikatte, who was also in this tipper, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital in Shivamogga.

Harish, son of Borappa, from S N Nagara in Sagar, Shivamogga district,had taken part in new year celebrations at Hosanagar before moving towards Sonale in the tipper truck, it is gathered. A case was registered in Hosanagar police station in this connection.
