External blows can never harm inner divinity - Raghaveshwara Swamiji

Bantwal, Jan 2: 'Before giving fire test to prove her purity, Sita had told Rama that no one has total control over his or her body, whereas the heart remains within the person's control. Even though demon Ravana took me to Lanka, taking advantage of the fact that I was weak, my heart remained within my control. It was firmly embedded in Lord Rama. I am narrating this story because it is possible to inflict external injuries to me and my Math. But my inner self remains unharmed,' said Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Sri Ramachandrapur Math, Hosanagar.

He was delivering benedictory address at Peraje unit of Sri Ramachandrapur Math in Mani near here on Thursday January 1.

'One should be able to remain mentally stable and strong in the face of adverse circumstances. We should wear smiles on our lips, and harden our hearts to see that it does not quiver in the face of uncertainties and adversities. We should be prepared to face what comes in our lives. The fact that my devotees have placed their trust on me and continued to treat me as their guide and guru, is heartening,' he added.

He said that when one moves towards east, there is no need for him to kick out the west. He advised people to always speak soft, work to implement society-centric schemes, and strive to erase bad memories.

Advocate, Shambhu Sharma, addressing the meeting, said that Diwakar Shastri had, in connivance with certain mafia, begun to threaten Rama Katha singers and programme conveners. 'He told a person named Chandrashekhar from Kekkar to see that Ramachandrapur Math pays him Rs 3 crore, duly threatening to file rape case against the Swamiji in case of failure to meet this demand. An incomplete and fabricated complaint without any signature was delivered to the court after the Math refused to meet this demand. The police did not follow the customary procedure of verifying the background and conduct of the complainants before registering the complaint. All these things have now proved to the people that this was part of a conspiracy,' he explained.

Darbe Vasant Kumar and Vishwanath Mundovumoole were given papers appointing them as Gurikars. General manager of MGPPL, Shivakumar, was present. Seraje Subrahmanya Bhat presented the programme.
