Congratulations to Fr. Melwin and all who toiled hard in creating a beautiful Church. The celebration seems really grand and apt. The Altar looks really beautiful.

One very disturbing trend that I repeatedly see in Mangalore is felicitation within the church after the Holy Mass. I have seen the chairs being put on the Holy Altar with your back to Tabernacle and then carrying out the inaugural function including cutting of cake (not in this instant). It is my opinion that the Altar is not for any function other than celebration of Mass. I have seen so many programs and functions in Canada and USA, no one ever have any felicitation or having cake or eatables distributed within the church. It is sad the Holy place is desecrated by our own Holy People.
