Chennai, Dec 13: Commending Koneru Humpy for her gold medal winning effort at the Doha Asiad, Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand has said her feat was exemplary and would inspire others to take up the game.

"Humpy is the spearhead amongst the women chess players. At all age group levels in India, the game is very competitive. Humpy winning the first gold medal for India is commendable," he said.

"I am keeping my fingers crossed for the overall team gold medal in the Games. We will get two gold medals then, and I think we have good chances. Let us just wait," he said.

On his own goals for 2007, Anand said "my goal is to win the World Championship in September 2007 in Mexico City. I would like to spend quite a lot of time working for achieving that goal." Anand was speaking after inaugurating the third edition of the NIIT Mind Champion Academy's championship for school-going kids.
