Bengaluru: KSRTC to reduce fares within two to three days

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 3: State transport minister, Ramalinga Reddy, stated that the file containing recommendation on reduction of KSRTC bus fares has already been submitted to the chief minister. He was speaking to media persons at a function organized on Friday January 2 at Kaveri Bhavan relating to release of technical calendar for the year 2015.

Reddy said that a proposal to reduce fares based on reduced price of diesel was sent to the chief minister for approval. He revealed that the chief minister had forwarded the file to the finance department for their views and recommendations.

The minister refused to get into the nuances of how much reduction the passengers can expect. 'A clear picture will emerge in two to three days. Fares will be revised downward thereafter,' he clarified.
