Puttur, Jan 4: A person who was travelling on the pillion of a scooter died after falling to the road. The accident occurred when the scooter, which was participating in Milad rally on national highway 75 tripped over a stone lying by the side of the road at Gadiyara in Kedila village near Uppinangady on Saturday January 3.
The deceased has been identified as Shafiq (20) from Sattikallu village here. He sustained serious injuries and died before any medical aid could be extended. Rider of the scooter, identified Abdul Razack, who also fell on the road, was grievously injured. He is being treated in a hospital in Puttur.
Uppinangady police reached the spot and took necessary steps.
