Bengaluru, Jan 6: Some ministers and legislators, who feel embarrassed at the repeated criticism of ministers and government's functioning by assembly speaker, Kagodu Thimmappa, reportedly have approached Congress high command with a demand to replace him.

Through a letter written to the central  leadership of the party, these ministers and Congress MLAs have said that the government often  faces embarrassing  situation because of Kagodu's habit of giving a dressing down to the government and ministers. They have therefore, sought him to be unseated, reports said.

During the last some days, the speaker had taken to task health minister, U T Khadar, both inside the assembly and in media conference. Khadar had thereafter provided his response through letters addressed to the chief minister and speaker. The speaker had also come down  heavily on the government on eviction of people residing inside forest regions.

It is said that ministers who are angry at the speaker belong to Bengaluru, Mangaluru and some  coastal areas.
