Mangaluru, Jan 8: A press meet was organized by MLA Moideen Bava at MCC premises, Lalbagh here on January 8.

Addressing the media persons Moideen Bava said, "The recent Soorinje murder incident is an act of revenge, a case related to extortion, and not related to Ganja Mafia. There are ganja mafia problems in my constituency, the police are in a hunt to catch them and curb the same. The punishment will be severe for those caught in the drug mafia".

"The airport requires about 189 crores for the full-fledged international airport to be functional. The DGCA and the state government have given up their efforts due to the shortage of funds. Hence, the airport can be developed in Public-Private –Partnership (PPP model) and hence we will seek funds from the NRI investors in Dubai and request them for the investments".

Development works undertaken

About 26 schools in the constituency have been given the total grant of Rs 40 lacs and grant worth Rs 1.87 crore has been sanctioned for the building of Kavoor First Grade College. He also said, about Rs 68.95 lac grant has been sanctioned through Devraj Arus Backward Classes Development Board.

T K Sudhir and others were present at the press meet.

Bava's statement should have been made by Police. Here he acts as police officer.Police deprt is yet to dig the truth in Soorige case.Just like Siddu's CID enquiry...Final report is first prepared then the enquiry begins!!!
All these things are because previous BJP govts bad performance .Had they performed well to the expectation of the voters with out indulging in massive corruption, people would have voted them again to power.People chose this nikamma govt hopelessly and know devil.

Is this a case of wrong reporting or wrong interpretation. How an MLA comment on the purpose of murder and a criminal activity in his constituency. If he is admitting to the fact that Drug mafia is operating from his constituency, he has to report it to the Police, Narcotic cell and not to the Press.
Further more, he is talking about developing the airport. I fail to understand how a MLA think of collecting funds for airport, when the matter is a central government issue. Secondly, other than providing land to the Project, if necessary, state government has no role in building and operation of the airport.
I Think, like all politician, he is just acting as though people are fools.

Why MLA has to give statement on murder of a political party leader, it is responsibility of the police investigate & the court give verdict. who is this BAWA to conclude the case. It is complete failure of Congress Govt. in controlling Ganja, other smuggling business from Surathkal to Bantwal in coastal District. Why can't we call it a planned political murder.

    Bava's statement itself is contradictory.
He says it is an act of revenge, but did not mention revenge against what.
In fact it is a revenge against Keshava Shetty for daring to give complaint to police about the Ganja business of the Murderer.
