Udupi, Dec 18: The Nagarjuna Virodhi Horata Samiti has decided to intensify the protest against the proposed Nagarjuna Power plant by announcing a National Highway bundh on January 10.
This was announced following a meeting of the Samiti at Uchila here on Saturday December 16. Speaking to the press, protest committee president Pramod Madhwaraj said that relay protests will begin at Padubidri here from Friday December 22.
The National Highway bundh will take effect in the Dakshina Kannada district also. The committee also plans to send a delegation of people’s representatives to discuss the issue with the chief minister.
MP Manorama Madhwaraj, MLA Lalaji Mendon and former minister Vasant Salian were present at the meeting.
