Mangaluru: MLA is hand in glove with drugs mafia, alleges Satyajit Suratkal

Mangaluru, Jan 10: Satyajit Suratkal, leader of Hindu organizations, said that he and others like him had so far been under the impression that the Suratkal MLA was supporting illegal cattle trafficking alone. "We have now realized that he has been extending wholehearted supported to ganja mafia too," he said.

"Every time a crime happens in Suratkal, the MLA comes up with one or the other clarification. From one angle, we construe that the MLA is directly responsible for the increase in crimes in this area. If he continues to behave this way, we may be compelled to organize a strong protest in front of his residence," he warned.

He was addressing a public meeting organized by the citizens of Suratkal and Soorinje, to condemn the statement of the MLA that the recent murder of Keshava Shetty had occurred because of gang war, and to protest against the increased presence of ganja racket in the area. The meeting was held at Suratkal junction.

Speaking later, former minister, Krishna J Palemar, reminded the people that when he was the MLA here, not a single major crime had occurred in the area. "Now, crimes have become the order of the day," he observed. He blamed failure of Congress government in gaining control over law and order situation for the bane. Palemar also charged the police for their negligent attitude towards reigning in crime and criminals.

Kasturi Panja, addressing the protesters, said that the situation in Suratkal and surrounding areas is so grave that people are afraid even to move about freely. "The MLA, who is expected to brood over measures to improve the situation, has been found to be issuing irresponsible statements. We do not need such legislators. We should make arrangements to send him back home at the earliest," she said.

Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, Sathish Muchoor, Eshwar Kateel, Vachan Mukka, Balakrishna Munchoor, and many others were present.

why the authority allow him to bark. Always stands with a non sense topic.
His other TWO companions not appear.
Qualified Manglaoreans should keep him away from any public meeting.
And should not support such communal mind groups.

Good utilization of the space under the flyover. Lots of jobless people always present around the bus stand. So crowd is not an issue. First it was the corporator now MLA is their target. And look who is accusing. In the last picture someone is watching something interestingly on his mobile. When our former MLA is around im always suspicious.

As improvement\modernization\increase in population especially work force from outside the State occurs, crime rates bound to go up.
But the Present Govt. has done well to contain the same. You can refer to statistics.
If BJP and the right wing groups support the present Govt. in the State, instead of disturbing it with unnecessary bandhs\agitations, then everything will work out fine for the people and development of the State.
They have to realise wy certain unwanted events are taking place in the State.....
    Please introspect

May be people who are accusing the MLA are the ones involved in increased crimes\ganja trafficking.
Usually guilty ones come up with such paid crowd gathering to show themselves as "saints".
CIDs should track their movements and surely they will be in their nets.
People should realise this and should not support such peace disturbing group's claims.

Eventhough I am not a supporter of Congress I feel Mohideen Bava is far better than Krishna Palemar progress wise. What kKrishna Palemar did when he was minister nothing..he is a builder ..only selfish which is advantageous for his development work only done by him, in that way Bava has done good jobs and active leader except his communal and criminal mind.Krishnapalemar also not done anything favourable to hindus but now coming and showing his cunning face.He got seat because of money power not not because of eligibility.Next time better to Satyajit Surathkal for MLA candidate from Surathkal..surely he would win.....

Hereafter every murder will be looked in to political eye because in recent times most of the untoward incidents including murder rape, theft classified in undivided DK district as such.Very unfortunate that in these human issues are politicized undermining serious nature of the incidents.
