Mangaluru: Tulu movie 'Rickshaw Driver' wins state award for Best Regional Film

Mangaluru, Jan 10: Tulu film 'Rickshaw Driver' has won the Karnataka State Film Award for the Best Regional Film. The award will be presented in February.

The Karnataka State Film Awards are the most notable and prestigious film awards given for the film industry in the state. These are considered the highest awards for Kannada language films. They are given annually to honor the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the south Indian film industry by the government of Karnataka.

'Rickshaw Driver' was released on September 27,2013. The film received excellent response upon release. It had Karthik Attavar, Sara Sharma and Neha Saxena in lead roles. The film potrayed a beautiful message of communal harmony in Dakshina Kannada district.

The movie was produced under the banner of Sri Muthu Film’s production, with Praveen Kumar Konchady as the producer. He also wrote the script, story and screenplay. His maiden Kannada movie ‘Ekameva’ had won second place in Mexico Film Festival and two Karnataka State Awards.

The movie, directed by Ha Su Rajashekar of ‘Oriyadori Asal’ fame, has music by Wahab Saleem Puttur, action by Kaurav Venkatesh, and choreography by Madan-Harini. Niranjan Babu Bangalore and Vijay Crasta Melkar with camera and Keshava Suvarna with art have contributed significantly to this movie.

Upon public demand, the film's climax has been changed and the film is all set to re-release soon.

    Finally really well deserved award for this film. Really sad to know this film was not nominated in tulu awards which was held last December-14( I am sure politics involved).Well Atleast our state recognized this movie was the best. Karthik And Neha good luck for your future :-)

    The Rickshaw Driver is the best movie ever made in Tulu Film Industry until now.

    The movie is set for re- release d scenes, story continuity, additional scenes.

    The movies provides public messages on social unity without caste or creed difference, to stop Human Child Sacrifice based on superstitious beliefs, the importance of self employment without consideration of white collar jobs, and what is true meaning of love and thought and actions that can complicate a healthy relationship.


    I hope the produced Mr. Praveen Kumar Konchady, will in future, produce and director this type of similar movies, which provides, a good message to public and society.

    I congratulate Mr. Praveen Kumar Konchady and his whole team, for their efforts and hard work.

    We truly have a distinguished personality who will, in future run, will create a history in Tulu Movie Industry.

    Mr. Karthik, is truly a versatile actor, who will surely make his mark not only in Tulu film industry, but also we will have a great super star, from Mangalore, who will bring name and fame to our Tulunadu.

    Its a good movie. Good to learn that, the film is re-releasing with changes in the climax.
    I would like to suggest the Director to totally remove the Scenes of Naveen Padeel. It is total non-sense Thre is no connectivity with the Film's core story.

    Actually it was a Good movie..hero is really good..good songs/music, good dance,good comedy, good story..and good direction except the last part of the movie which was very short ending....
