Mangaluru, Jan 11: The third day of 'Alva's Virasat', national cultural festival, being held at Palace Ground, Vidyagiri in Moodbidri on Saturday January 10, belonged to blind and differently-abled youngsters.

The programme, 'Akhiyon Ke Jharokon Se' in which the blind and disabled artistes presented a programme interspersed with new and old Hindi songs alike with their mellifluous voices succeeded in bathing the audience in a feeling of divinity and ecstasy. This programme was presented by Nandu Productions and Nandu Kadams from Mumbai. The ability of one of the blind male artiste in perfectly mimicking female voice in singing beautifully came in for lavish praise. The teams presented very famous and heart-touching songs from the present and bygone era.

Yoga postures with lighted candles which matched rhythm of songs provided a visual treat to the gathering.

'Miracle on Wheels', a visual presentation directed by Syed Salahuddin Pasha from New Delhi under the banner of 'Ability Animated Foundation' gave the people a different view into the adventure skills and abilities of the blind people before their eyes. This show received thunderous applause.

Punjabi folklore dances presented by students of a college in Punjab, Gujarati variety of folk dances performed by artistes of Ranga Malhar Performing Arts, Ahmedabad, and cultural extravaganza presented by Alva's educational institutions also succeeded in making the event a grand success.
