Mangaluru: PPL cricket tourney from Jan 14 - Team Gimpex Warriors launched

Mangaluru, Jan 12: Gimpex Warriors cricket team was launched at Forum Fiza Mall Pandeshwar on Monday January 12, ahead of the Paradise Premier League.

The maiden edition of Paradise Premier League (PPL) under-arm cricket tournament will be held at Paradise Cricket Ground at Krishnapura from Wednesday January 14.

District incharge minister B Ramanath Rai after launching Gimpex Warriors team said, "I am very happy to be a part of the launching ceremony. I wish success for the upcoming matches and the team members. I also congratulate the team owners on creating the team."

MLA Mohiuddin Bava said, "Paradise Premier League is similar to Karnataka Premier League (KPL). The inaugural will be held at Paradise Cricket Ground at Krishnapura on January 14 at 6 pm.

"A match between Ramanath Rai XI and Mohiuddin Bava XI has also been arranged, and all are requested to come and support the matches."

The Paradise Premier League team jersey was also launched officialy during the programme. Ten teams have already been auctioned for the tournament.

Gimpex Warriors is owned by Imthiyaz Hussain and Hakeem is the captain of the team. It has a total of 15 players.
