Udupi: SAC emerge winners at 'Dance X-Plosion' Season 2

Udupi, Jan 14: St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, emerged as winners of the second edition of ‘Dance X-Plosion–2015’.

'Dance X-Plosion', an inter-collegiate dance competition organized by Vision Event Management, Brahmavar, was held on Sunday January 11.

A number of dance crews from Mangaluru, Udupi and Kundapur showcased their talents in the event.

The winners, St Aloysius College, were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 14,141. Poornprajna College, Udupi, won the second place and bagged a cash prize of Rs 8,181.

Anala Upadhya of PPC College, Udupi, won the solo dance competition and took home a cash prize of Rs 4,141, while the runner-up Clinton from Dr TMA Polytechnic College, Manipal, who was the winner of last season, won a cash prize of Rs 2,121.

Hundreds of budding talents proved their power by giving their best performance. There were nine vibrant dance crews that contested in the group dance category and 19 dancers who performed in the solo competition.

The chief guest Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA,Udupi, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. The programme was initiated by the H V Somayaji, principal, SMS College, Brahmavar and he wished the event all success.

Other dignitaries such as Vikas Shetty, president, Youth Congress, Udupi Assembly, Nishan B Rai, industrialist, Brahmavar, and Goutham Agrahara, president, BJP Yuva Morcha, Chanthar, were present on the occasion.

The judges for the competition were Prashanth Kadiyali, Vikky, and Lakshmi Gururaj. The entire event was mastered by Nitaz Ali and Prateeksha Shetty.

Vipin Shetty, Aftab Razak, Sudesh Shetty, Daryll D’Almeida, and Ajesh Shetty are the co-ordinators of Vision Event Management.
