Mangaluru, Jan 14: The annual feast of Infant Jesus Shrine, Carmel Hill, Bikarnakatte here was held with great pomp and religious fervour on Wednesday January 14. Thousands of devotees took part in the celebrations.

A solemn mass was celebrated by Dr Ignatius D'Souza, the Bishop of Bareilly.

In his homily the bishop of Bareilly said, "The motto of the feast is healthy family. God is the one who protects us, God lives as family, Father, son and holy spirit. Today the young children are finding dificult to respect their parents, it is easy to drop them in orphanage and visit once a while. Family's are broken, divorces have increased, greed has increased, there is no spirit of sacrifice in life.

"Our life has become like bubbles of soap, where happiness is momentary and vanishes instantly. Our flats are well painted, decorated, the rooms are big but hearts have become smaller.

"Our families must be one of confession, and not ones fighting in courts. We have to understand each other, share the pain and find soulution for problems amicably," the bishop said.

Fr Charles Serrao, provincial of Karnataka-Goa province, Fr Pius James D'Souza, superior of the community, Fr Ellias D'Souza director of Shrine, Fr Antony Barnabas Monis assistant rector, Fr Vijay Victor Lobo, Fr Joe Tauro superior of St Joseph Monastrery, Fr Melwin D'counha, parish preist of Bajjodi, Fr Antony Serrao, parish priest of Bendore, Fr Deep Fernandes, Fr Stephen Alwyin Pereira and other priests were present at the mass.

Former union minister Oscar Fernandes, and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino and others were also present.

The masses were held from 6 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a special prayer service in Kannada at 1.30 pm. Nine days of Novena, from January 5 to January 13, were held as part of the feast.

On the occasion of the annual feast, a blood donation camp was also organized on January 9, from 9 am to 1 pm. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the camp.

MLC Ivan D'souza and MLA J R Lobo also visited Carmel Hill during the novena of the Shrine.

    Dear Nelson,

#1. Acts 1:11 "Men of Galilee," they said. "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

#2. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-5:4 According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of god, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief
#3. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

Wish all the faithful a very Happy feast of Infant Jesus. Like all other feast we celebrate this is also a great celebration for Christians. God sending His only son to redeem the mankind from sins and freed us making again the children of God. So Jesus taking the form of a man and coming to this world and Infant Jesus Is going to be the Son of God for ever. He is both God and Man taking the Human form and now dwell within us by sending the Holy Spirit and living amidst us and making miracle in our earthly life. One day we will be with him for ever. and awaiting His second Coming. Infant Jesus bless all of us.

@ FC , Mangalore. No difference . Its the same Jesus. We worship in different ways , though Idolatry Image has some pagan concept , but still its imaginary depicting Kingship of Jesus.

As I can see some needy beggars in the above picz , Instead of lighting candles , save money and put them in their plates . Jesus will never mind and will bless accordingly.

Can anyone please explain me difference between infant Jesus and the one who died on the cross carrying the sins, shame, sickness, curse of mankind - the Lamb of God.

I am very much interested to know the truth because Bible says, know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Jesus walked among Jews, performed so many miracles, preached the good news, died a cruel death on the cross and resurrected, yet they could not accept him. Now 2000 years have passed, time of his second coming at hand, we call him infant Jesus. Mathew 7-8 Jesus says:- 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Holding a statue of infant Jesus are we doing or are we able to do what Jesus has said?

Dear FC. Mangalore, read your own words 25 times and you will get what you want. Baby Jesus, Infant Jesus, Jesus on Cross, Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus son of Mary, Jesus Son of God, Jesus Son of David all same... you need just his Spirit to understand all that.

Dear Fc, I really do not know who you are. I can say there is only one same Jesus and there is no difference. The first thing I want to tell you is that if you’re interested and want to know the Truth, you can do your Theological studies or do thesis on Truth. If you already know and believe the second coming is at hand, then why you doubt? Well, nobody knows how the second coming will take place and which form Jesus would come.

Since you have hidden your name under FC, your intention appears to be somewhat sinister. God came to this work in the form or human Flesh, i.e Infant Jesus. He lived on for us, absolved us of our sins and died for us on the Cross - ie Crucified Jesus. When you were born, surely your parents must have called you with some pet names like Baba, Baby, Munna etc. Apply your knowledge to understand this basic phenomenon you will find real answers. It takes a lifetime to understand the Trinity from your question - I doubt if your intentions were to find the truth??

    Dear Alphonso,

Jesus came in form of baby, I agree. But he died as a man for our sins. He ascended to heaven as a man. He’s seated as a man on the right hand of our God the Father. I am sure when you were small you were called as Munna, baby etc, and I am also sure now your not called as Munna/Baby Alphonso. Also, when a person dies as an adult, he’s remembered as an adult, and not as an infant. I also hope that you apply your knowledge to understand this simple truth.

    Dear Alphonse,

It is the will of God the Father, that not even one soul shall perishes, because Jesus has overpaid the price for the sins of mankind.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge(Hos 4:6)

Hope it enlightens you and may the peace of Lord Jesus be with you
