Dubai : Free open air cinema in JLT every fortnight

Dubai, Jan 15 (Emirates 247) : Do you fancy watching a movie in the open air while enjoying the surroundings of greenery? Head to Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) in the weekends to come, as its newly opened park will be the stage of its first open air cinema.

It is not the first in Dubai but certainly a first in the community. Residents or anyone interested in the out of the ordinary film experience is welcome to join. And the best part is that it is totally free of charge.

Fridays for children, and Saturdays for adults, said Great Events, organiser of the evenings. “Travel around the world with our independent movies and documentaries, have some entertainment and fun with our cartoon movies for kids or get inspired with some of the classics.”

Starting this weekend, the open air cinema will happen every fortnight, until the end of February. While movies will start at 8pm, entertainment will be available from 5pm, so it provides for the right timeframe to make it a night out.

During these months the evenings might get a little chilly, so visitors are advised to bring their blankets, or come dressed in plenty of warm clothes. Drinks and snacks will be available in the park, as if visiting a real cinema.

The following movies will be screened over the next 6 weeks:

January 16: Horrid Henry

January 17: The Motorcycle Diaries

January 30: Zambezia

January 31: Where do we go now?

February 13: Ponyo

February 14: Persepolis

February 27: The Secret World of Arrietty

February 28: Goodbye Lenni
