Doha: Tulu Koota conducts envt awareness programme

Doha, Jan 15: Tulu Koota, Qatar has joined hands with ICC and State of Qatar in its mission to spread awareness with respect to the environmental concern and taking ahead the United Nations theme-“One world , one environment”.

The campaign schedule was kick-started with active participation in planning and executing by the members with non-ending support and motivation from the president Ravi Shetty. The whole campaign has been designed with a mix bag of awareness, education, and competition and deliverable actions by the members.



























































All the committee members met at ICC Calcutta hall on January 9 to chalk out various plan for undertaking this very important campaign. Accordingly Committee was formed as under to undertake activities in line with the guidelines provided by ICC.

The beginning was embarked on January 10 by planting half a dozen saplings at one of the gated community compounds in Doha and also at one of the industrial area camps.Leader of planting the saplings is Asmath Ali-Sports Coordinator od Tulu Koota Qatar.

MC members and volunteers again met on January 11 to discuss, debateand finalize the presentation for the scheduled Campaign with in the association planned for January 12 at Ashoka Hall.

The above campaign was designed to orient Tulu Koota members about the environment causes and the effect of the same on our day to day life’s and concerns for the our future generations due to the depleting natural resources.

This campaign was designed to orient Tulu Koota members about the environment causes and the effect of the same on our day to day life’s and concerns for our future generations due to the depleting natural resources.

Dignitaries from ICC Managing Committee, past presidents of Tulu Kootaand many members including ladies and children graced the occasion despite very chilled weather. Kirananad, general secretary of Tulu Koota gave opening remarks and introduced the mission of Tulu Koota Qatar to the audience towards raising environmental awareness in the state of Qatar. He invited the president, RaviShetty for inaugurating the session to the dias.

Ravi Shetty, welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering and thanked them for attending the event. He gave a unique example in Tulu "If we eat the fruit as it is it is called Prakrithi,(Nature)if we add sugar and make juice and drink it becomes Samskrithi,(culture) Same fruit if we decay it and make arrack and drink, it becomes vikrithi,because of such many vikrithis(imbalance or disorder)of human beings, we all have directly or indirectly are responsible for the condition of mother earth what it is today. He also quoted Dr.Devi Shetty "World is not ruined by the bad people, but ruined because of the in activities of good people”. He felt that we are the good people must do something to reverse the process and when to do as Mother Teresa said "Life not lived for others is not a life. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not come. We have only today. Let us begin what we can...".

Further Ravindran, GM, ATS introduced the presenter of the session, Naveen Hegde, KEMCO. Hegde is a graduate Electrical Engineer from the prestigious REC Surathkal is Tulu Koota's nominated member Engineer to ICC.

Naveen Hedge made a detailed presentation with cause and effect approach along with individual’s responsibility towards preserving and conserving ourenvironment. He emphasized that how individual small and insignificant actions of the Individuals can become a big disaster in totality and collectivity. After the insightful sessions other speakers also joined the dais and presented their thoughts. Ravindran took the audience through a self-introspective journey through images of environment we had experienced and todays image of diminishing and ugly state of our environment and the questions to everyone was who is responsible?. Taking the journey ahead he embarked the audience to come ahead take individual pledges towards conserving an d preserving our environment by kicking off one habit.

Later Ravindran has introduced Chaitali Suhas Shetty who is Tulu Koota's Campaign coordinator. She has the rich experience of working and coordinating with many NGO's back in India. She briefed the audience on the competitions that Tulu Koota has planned for its members in the campaign drive in the course of time which included skit, movie making , seminar for different age groups. Theaudience was motivatedto come ahead participate in the campaign sothat the message reaches with an objective to all!!

Other speakers who presented their concerns were Uday Shetty,Leader of Innovative ideas. He presented his research on E-waste and the hazards of the same to the environment. He also focused the best practices towards the same in different parts ofthe world.Dr Rajeeth Shetty alsoemphasized that we individuals should take responsibility of our actions and take steps to preserve environment. S N Bhat, Archana N Shetty, Santhosh Shetty presented their valuable feedback and innovative ideas to be included in our campaign.

Diwakar Poojary, Tulu Koota past president and ICC general secretary thanked Tulu Koota for kick starting the campaign and wished the team for their efforts.

Tulu Koota past president Prakash Ajila and many members including many ladies and children have attended the campaign and pledged their support for the noble campaign.

Asmath Ali, Abdulla Monu, Dhananjay Rai, Sudhir Kotian, Shridhar Nayak,Vijay Rai, Yashpal Putran, Mohan Jeppinamogaru, SunilBhandary, ChandraShekar, Sandeep Rai , DineshGowda, Dheeraj, Ranjan, Subba Rao have worked hard and provided various volunteer services towards the success of the campaign.

Seetharam Shetty, immediate past president of Tulu Koota presented vote of thanks with beautiful remarks on the cause and dedicating a silent moment to the mother earth.

    Congratulations and good luck to Tulu Koota Qatar. As the campaign baby started crawling on Jan 9th now that t is running. Excellent work by team, volunteers, supporters, attendees and the full time encouragement, support and involvement by the vibrant , down to earth Koota's president Mr. Ravi Shetty. Long live TKQ and more clean and green environmental especially in Qatar. Hope and pray that Let other parts of the world too involve in such activities and let be there a beautiful world.

    Bravo! Tulu Koota. One of the best campaigns so far, spanning week long of activities.
    Capt. Ravi Shetty along with leaders like Ashmath Ali, Seetharam Shetty and others have set the benchmark for the community to follow.
    I sincerely believe that it is each and every individual's responsibility to protect and nurture our environment.
