Mangaluru, Jan 14: The newly-renovated children's outpatient department (OPD) was inaugurated at KMC Hospital, Attavar here on Wednesday January 14.
The one-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art OPD was inaugurated by Mangaluru's well-known paediatrician P N Krishnamurthi. He lauded the hospital for the unique initiative and focussing on children's interests while providing them quality treatment.
Head of the paediatric department, Dr Shantaram Baliga said, "The hospital will provide modern medical care for children. Children will be provided with medicines in all the departments and special care will be taken to see that there's minimum pain for the children. Our efforts will be to ensure that the children recover from their illness quickly.
"Small seats have been arranged for children in the department. Cartoons can be seen all over the place. It is even possible to watch cartoons in a large LCD screen," he added.
Dr Anand, Venugopal, Dr Nutan Kamath, Dr M V Prabhu and others were present during the inauguration ceremony.
