Bhatkal, Jan 18: In a tragic incident, a youth died in an accident here on Sunday January 18, just a day before his sister's marriage.

The deceased has been identified as Syed Raza (23), son of Mohammed Saleem Syyed Hussaina.

The accident occured in the early hours of Sunday when Raza's bike collided with another bike on national highway 66 near City Light Hotel.

Raza was seriously injured in the accident. After initial treatment at Bhatkal government hospital, he was shifted to Udupi. Later during the day, when his condition started to deteriorate, he was shifted to AJ hospital, Mangaluru. By afternoon, doctors gave up hope and he was then taken back to Bhatkal. Raza breathed his last at Bhatkal welfare hospital.

After post-mortem at Bhatkal Government Hospital, the body was handed over to the family.

Sources said that he was on road for more than 20 minutes after the accident and was bleeding profusely. Eyewitnesses also blamed the police for not taking the victim to hospital on time.

The other bike rider who was allegedly drunk fled the spot, it is learnt.

Raza had come to India just 15 days ago from Muscat where he was trying to get a job. He had come home for his sister’s wedding which was to take place on Monday January 19.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal town police station and further investigation is on.

Why still people are reluctant to carry the injured person to a nearby hospital ?.Its very sad and unfortunate that a young life is lost. The other bike rider who is responsible for the accident should be booked for murder as he fled the scene without helping the victim.

"Eyewitnesses also blamed the police for not taking the victim to hospital on time", why only police eyewitnesses are also responsible for his death, they would have also taken victim to the hospital, so that he would have survived. Blaming is easy. So called eyewitnesses, you people would have taken a step. He was nothing to you, but one day, any of your loved ones will be on his place.

very sad for the Family and the Young fellow.Just a day before the sisters marraige,The other fellow who caused the accident flow from place.what a cowardness.suppose when it happens to him, would he also say and feel how it is to cause accident and let him bleed and struggle with life?second Thing I cant understand is when a Patient is very sick, they Transfer from A to B then again to z.It is quite wrong.when they bring doctors can see whether it is possible to treat there or not. They have to tell immediately where to go or shift them personally. They must be having ambulances. This type of Change in health sector ,health Minister must bring in.A serious Patient should not be moved at any rate. That worstens his condition.why doctors dont realize this?Heartfelt sympathy to his Family.May his Soul rest in Peace.
