Kasargod: Missing couple appear in court - conversion alleged

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Jan 20: A girl student of a college here, who had gone missing some days back, was found to have eloped with a youth from another religion. The girl appeared in the court on Monday January 19 in the company of a youth with whom she had eloped, as well as some others who had come to support him. She was found to have been converted into another religion. During this time, the father of the girl, who was desirous of taking his daughter home, and the group that had come in her support grappled with each other in the court premises.

As a result, proceedings in the court of the magistrate (first class) here was disturbed for sometime. The proceedings were halted, during which time the police tried to disperse the clashing groups. In this tussle, additional police sub-inspector of Manjeshwar station, P Vijayan, suffered injury to his hand. Taking into account tense situation, additional policemen led by the local police circle inspector, P K Sudhaklaran, rushed to the spot and resorted to light lathi charge to chase the people out of the place.

The incident occurred at around 12.30 pm. The father of the girl in question had come with several of his supporters for escorting his daughter home.

A student of the local government college, who hails from Chandrapara here, who is aged 18, had gone missing since January 15. In his complaint filed at Badiyadka station, the girl's father had stated that a 20-year-old youth belonging to another religion from Santosh Nagar too had disappeared from this date.

On Monday, when the girl appeared in the court, she was seen to have undergone religious conversion. The girl and the youth were produced before the magistrate by the police after quelling the disturbance. The girl told the court that she was in love with the above youth, and that she had gone with him on her own accord. When she was questioned whether she was ready to accompany her parents, she replied in the negative.

The court, however, noted that the youth had not yet attained marriageable age. Therefore, it did not permit the girl to go with him. However, it said she was free to go to a place of her choice, after which the police said that she would be accommodated in the government Mahila Mandiram here.

If the girl is unwilling to be with her family, then for sure she's not getting the love from her family. She is in search of love and she finds in the guy with whom she decided to elope. There is some innocence in what she did, as the guy was under aged. She must have thought of all pros and cons of this situation before happening. Conversion is her own choice and it's the fundamental right of every Indian, you and I have no rights to speak against this girl. You may only advice in a good way.

    Shivaram,
in some cases hindu boy 'abducts'
in ALL other cases hindu girls elopes

so no involvement of 'innocent' people (muslims) here. don't ask Asif.

One wise man has explained in this forum why hindu girl leaves her parents. It is because she goes in search of 'love' as her parents don't love her.

A young and immature always just looks for the present and immediate benefits i.e to say love lust attraction enjoyment etc. rather than thinking about their futures .Yes it is true the parents always worried about the future of their child but the young generation just thinks always otherwise!!!. Unfortunate to say but it is true to an extent!!!

Dear Pam Suvarna....I totally agree on your comment. Love is not that blind that you insult your parents love to bargain for another new love. The children should understand and realize what sacrifice they have done to upbring them.

    Rahil,

Its alright that children should consider parents feelings but the the boy or girl should have total freedom whom ever they want to marry. It is their life. they have to handle it for good or bad. Parents have to stop interfering in their children lives after they turn 18.

I hate how the people over here think children have to listen and care about parents wishes as if whatever the parents say will turn out good. Isn`t it emotional blackmailing.

This is just targeting Hindu Girls in the name of love. I bet you, the guy will enjoy with her and later dispose within no time or will convert her and get accomplished themself with a satisfaction that yet another Hindu girl has been successfully targeted!!! In big cities of India, nobody bothers which religion people go out (or in) with each other as the people are broad minded. Only in smaller places where religion rules the roost, all these problems are created by outsiders (u can guess) interference. If they do not interfere, life goes on in smaller places (Towns\villages) without any incident.
In big cities too they fervently follow each ones religion.
Best thing for the affected families, is to hold a dialogue to iron out the matter amicably and allow the couple to go ahead if they still insist on going their way.
By such method, life would be much easier to live by.

According to me what is happening like missing,conversion,eloping,extra-marital relationships, love Jihad, moral policing etc are of political nature. Why these chaos?Children must understand the mental agony/status of the parents, who have kept a deep faith in them by bringing them to this level before taking any bold steps.
Which they are not doing. In the olden days too these incidents were quite prevalent and happening clandestinely but no publicity, political colour like the one which is happening.Definitely I support the feelings of their heavy heart when such things are happening. How much sacrifices they made in order to bring to this level.Their curse only have an impact on them and their life will get destroyed.Children will never realize these things.I am not against inter-caste marriage provided it takes place in a proper manner with the consent of both the parties but I am against cheating, hiding, eloping etc.But how it happened? It is due to our loose liberal judicial system.Because nobody has the fear of our law and they can do,act and behave the way they wish/want.If our judicial system is strong and punish the guilty, nobody dares to involve in all these activities.I feel very sorry for the parents of the accused, because their pain can be felt, realized only by them not by others.Very sad.Our culture is started eroding slowly and gradually. No end and solution for that.

Very sad after knowing mental condition of father of girl whoever he may be,why these youths are not considering the care and love shown by their parents towards them? why they not think at once the importance of parents role before falling in love with some one third guy,
Parents are nothing but viewable gods in the form of human being.Having the curse of parents do they deserve for better future married life? Not at all.
