Mangaluru, Jan 21: In an incident at Kuthar near Ullal, where a cow had fallen to a well and about to die, a group of youngsters have saved it from death.
The cow was pregnant. Most of the youngsters in the group were Muslims. The general public has appreciated the humanity shown towards a cow.
The cow belonged to Bala Samrakshana Vedike and fell down into the well which did not have compound wall around it. Rafiq, Jamal and Ritesh Poojary with some other friends heard about the incident and rushed to the spot. They did whatever they could to save the cow before calling the fire brigade.
The fire brigade which arrived later helped the team of youngsters to bring back the cow from the well.
The Manager of Bala Samrakshana Vedike Dr Anantha Krishna Bhat has thanked the youngsters. Bala Samrakshana Vedike is a place where abandoned cows are looked after. The name of the rescued cow is Kapila.
