Mumbai, Jan 22: John Abraham has injured his back while driving an SUV in Dubai, UAE as part of a scene for Welcome Back, but was found back on the sets to complete the shoot after popping a few pain killers.

During the shooting of the car chase in the desert, John who was to be surrounded by vehicles from all sides, applied the brakes of his own too soon and sprained his back. The doctor who was brought to the scene, has advised John to take rest and not lift any heavy objects for a few days. John was also administered a few physiotherapy sessions, when he was in too much pain to even sit up after injuring himself. Ever the professional he took some pain pills and when his pain was more bearable, he was back on the sets to complete the shoot for the day.

Producer Firoz Naiadwala confirmed the news. John will next been seen playing a blind man in the sequel of the 2002 hit film Aankhen. The director this time is Anees Bazmee who takes up the mantle from Vipul Shah who directed the original Aankhen film that ended with Amitabh being carted off to jail for his crimes.

"Part two will start from where Part one left off Amitabh Bachchan getting released from jail and recruiting three new blind men, one of whom is John Abraham," said Anees, who was talking about the storyline of the movie this time around. John
Abraham has taken over the role that was initially played by Akshay Kumar. His two other visually impaired accomplices are yet to be finalised. Also there is no news on who will be playing the character that was played by Sushmita in the original. She had trained the three blind men to rob the bank without any glitches."

The movie is based on the story line of a Gujarati play titled, "Andhalo Pato".
