Mangalore, Dec 29: The political equations in DK Zilla Panchayat changed on Friday with the deciding factor being JDS
The Congress-JDS alliance that propelled the Congress to rise to the ZP presidentship tumbled with the result of the No-Confidence Motion against incumbent ZP chairperson Mamata Gatti of Congress.
On Friday, the 15 votes of BJP and 3 from JDS brought down ZP chairperson Mamata Gatti from her seat of power.
Although the ZP consists of 5 JDS members, one was absent and one did not voice his vote, while the remaining 3 supported BJP in its No-Confidence Motion.
The proceedings have been sent to the Deputy Commissioner who, thorugh a notification, will announce the new ZP president. However vice president Dharanendra Kumar has been made in-charge ZP president.
