Mangaluru: Old rivalry results in fight at Mulky, six arrested

Mangaluru, Jan 23: Mulky police have arrested six persons in connection with a group clash which erupted due to old rivalry in K S Rao Nagara in Mulky near here.

The arrested persons are Ganesh (45), Nithin (19), Niyaz, Fayaz, Hafiz and Imran.

Personal rivalry was the cause for the clash, sources said.

It is learnt that Niyaz and Fayaz questioned Ganesh and Nitin of K S Rao Nagara for parking their bike near Kordabbu temple. The arguments ended in assaults on one another.

As police the complaint filed by Nithin, rods, sticks and planks were used in the assault and even women were threatened.

The injured persons have been admitted to Mulky government hospital and a private hospital in Mukka.

A small fight which had taken place some months back has been blamed as the main reason for the current fight.

But the police who wanted to avert any communal tension because of this fight have deployed sufficient police personnel in the area.
