Mangaluru: Arrest of youths in Mulky - BJP protests, threatens bandh

Narendra Kerekadu

Mangaluru, Jan 24: BJP activists held protests in front of Mulky police station on Friday, January 23 evening opposing the arrest of the youth in connection to a fight between two groups on Thursday night January 22. They termed the police action as 'unfair'.

Ganesh (45), Nithin (19), Niyaz, Fayaz, Hafiz and Imran were arrested after arguments arose between them over the issue of a parking of a bike. Old rivalry was said to have led to the fight.

Condemning the police action, BJP vice-president Umanath Kotian said, "It is condemnable that the police have registered attempt to murder cases against the victims and arrested them. The other group had entered the houses of innocent people and posed death threats to them. The soft attitude of the police towards the assaulters has given rise to suspicion.

"There were about 20 people in the group who had assaulted. Only four of them were arrested and are free now on bail," he said.

"The remaining suspects should be arrested soon and the investigation should be unbiased. If not, Mulky bandh will be called in protest," he warned.

Police inspector Ramachandra Nayak responded to the protesters and assured that the case will be looked into and the remaining suspects will be arrested soon. The protest was called off after the assurance from the police inspector.

BJP leaders Sucharitha Shetty, K Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, Sathish Anchan, Sunil Alva, Sudarshan, ishwar Kateel, Shailesh, Deva Prasad Punarooru, Kasturi Panja, Ranganatha Shetty, Vindo Bolluru, Mohan Kubevooru and others were present.

Hands of police are tied by useless sicular congi ministers like khader, rai etc. They are forced to take action only against innocent Hindu youths and not against minority goondas. These ministers are good only for minorities

Mr. Avinash, you are abusing the police force and forcing them to be favorable for you only. you people are disturbing police in the duty and this is against law. I could not understand why police force is busy in appeasing you people and you are threatening to call bandh in case your demand is not fulfilled. I think you are trying for goondaraj by the grace of BJP. In this case, ask police to shut down police station and you replace them. This is really ridiculous. Situation in India has become worse ever since bjp rule has come. Common man has lost faith in this govt and we need change with strict rule. Goondaism should not be tolerated and peace should prevail.

Bandh , todpod, violence, threatening police officers , attacking minorities and their properties is the nature of saghpariwar. Why all these dramas now. Its nothing but an eyewash to the public to show that police also unfair on majority people, mere a respond to the PFI rally. But one thing they should understand at the end of the day they are well enough to judge who is right and whose iz wrong .
    PUBLIC SAB JAANTI HAI BHAAI.

Minority makes big difference special Muslims who are just waiting for prove from wrong to right which is not acceptable to majority. Justice has to be just rather majority or minority. Crime is crime which is not different either party.

How can govt take action Mr.Prashant.If they arrest some one from majority then they cal for bandh then clashes,if they release minority or release innocent then they blame soft corner for minority and finally come up with a statement that present govt it ANTI-HINDU .
If they arrest someone from minority then they blame govt is playing politics to gain majorities confidence.
You tell me how can any govt function if it is so.Kalladka bhat is giving such a speech were as he is promoting to do clashes and igniting people from certain community. What if someone from minority do that in mangalore then again protest band clashes. If govt doesnt take action then its ANTI-HINDU.What iam trying to say is law is equal for everyone.right? So we cant blame govt here for anything unless we people dont bother what others say,but keep moving on life by respecting every religion and human beings.First we are human beings. My request is to all political party is dont divide us by religion. We want a peaceful country which gandhi dreamt of.

Center should Bring an ordinance and make BJP'ans and sympathizers immune to arrest.
It should apply to other political parties as well, who constantly meddle in the duty of law enforcement.
Pakistani culture, no belief in the process of law or freedom to function independently.
Slowly, law enforcement is going into the clutches of politicians.
