Editing 'Fifty Shades... tough for director

London, Jan 24 (IANS): Director Sam Taylor-Johnson has described editing “Fifty Shades of Grey” as akin to walking a knife edge.

Taylor-Johnson has directed the movie, which is an adaptation of the popular novel "Fifty Shades of Grey", and the filmmaker reveals that it has been a tough process to capture the right tone and mood for its cine version, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Speaking to Red magazine, the director said: "I'm literally going out of my mind. I have seen this film over a thousand times and I'm now in a blancmange.

"But the nuances within -- the tiniest shift, look, blink of an eye -- can make all the difference and flip it into the wrong territory. It's like walking a knife edge,” she added.

Kelly Marcel has adapted the novel into a screenplay, while Taylor-Johnson has returned to the director's chair for the first time since she made her feature film debut with Nowhere Boy back in 2009.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” will feature Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, and Marcia Gay Harden.
