Mangaluru: Two-day Fancy Fete at Urwa Church begins on high note

Mangaluru, Jan 24: The two-day 'Fancy Fete-2015' organized by Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Urwa began with much fanfare at the Church grounds here on Saturday January 24.

The fancy fete has been arranged in aid of the Church's post-centenary golden jubilee projects, and also to support the medical relief fund and education fund of its schools.

The programme began with invocation. Genevie Mathais welcomed the guests.

Fr Victor D'Mello, parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church, Fr Jeevan Sequeira, assistant parish priest of the church, along with other guest inaugurated the fancy fete by releasing the balloons.

"Fete-2015" will include live music band, request songs, housie-housie, 'American Auction', games stalls, vegeterian and non-vegeterian food stalls, toy shop and real estate stalls. Dances, mimicry and jokes have also been lined up as part of the entertainment.

Karavali Chitra Kala Chavadi's painting exhibition, demonstration and installation have also been arranged at the Centenary hall of the church. The event will come to an end on Sunday night.

Fr Frank Rodrigues, Ivan Monteiro, convenor of the fancy fete, Florine Pereira, headmistress of St Aloysius Kannada Medium School, Hilary Frank D'Souza, headmaster of Pompei High School, Judith Fernandes and Preethi Nayak of parent-teachers' association were present at the occasion.

Rosy D'Souza compered the programme.
