Kasargod: 7-year-old dies, mother injured as lorry collides with car

Kasargod, Jan 24: A young boy died and his mother and brother sustained serious injuries in a an accident on the national highway at Periya here on Saturday January 24 evening.

Muhammed Afridi (7) was killed in a collision between a car and a lorry.

Afridi's mother Sabira and brother Muhammed Afrad have been admitted to Kasargod hospital.

The accident occured at around 6 pm when a lorry plying towards Kannur collided with the Alto car which Sabira was driving.

It is learnt that Sabira was driving towards Kasargod accompanied by her two children.

As soon as the accident took place, the locals rushed to the spot and pulled the injured out of the car. They were rushed to Kasargod hospital but Afridi breathed his last on the way.

Traffic police have registered a case.
