Released on 3,300 screens, 'Baby' earns 36 crores in 3 days

Mumbai, Jan 26: Akshay Kumar starrer - action movie 'Baby' which has been in the news mainly for its unusual name has managed to rake in Rs 37 crores in three days thanks to solid word of mouth. All those who have watched the film recommend it while heaping high praise on many aspects.

The film's cast includes Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, Rana Dugubaati, Kay Kay Menon and Tapsee Pannu and revolves around a team of highly trained professionals employed to protect its countrymen from terrorists. In the movie they track and try to nab escaped terrorist Billal played by Kay Kay Menon. The secret service is given an innocuous name to keep it off the radar of the bad guys.

The storyline has most of its viewers mesmerised and the performances have been garnering the rave reviews of being packed with a palpable punch but then it is to be expected with actors like Anupam Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Danny Denzonpa and Akshay Kumar. Not only has the movie drawn in a fair amount of footfalls but it has also got audiences who came back for a second viewing which is saying a lot for a movie that has only been out for one weekend.

It made a start with earning Rs 9.3 crores on the first day which was Friday and followed it up with Rs. 11.17 crores on Saturday. By Monday the movie has Rs. 36. 07 crores in its kitty. In doing brisk business, Baby has left the other movie that released just a day before itself - Dolly ki Doli in the dust.
