Udupi: Three with underworld nexus arrested for plotting to kill businessman

Udupi, Jan 27: The Udupi DCIB police on Tuesday January 27 arrested three persons with underworld nexus for conspiring to kill a Shirva-based businessman.

The arrested are Dinakar Poojary (29), a resident of Hebri, Sandeep Mogaveera of Kunjalu in Udupi, and Arvind Nayak (31) of Manchakal, Shirva.

Based on a tip-off, the police arrested the trio from Menasinahadi under Hiriadka police station limits on Tuesday.

The police recovered a revolver that was kept ready for carrying out the crime, two live bullets, a hatchet and three mobile phones from the accused. Police said that the accused have links with the underworld.

The accused and the weapons have been handed over to Hiriadka police for further inquiry.

Among the accused, Dinakar Poojary faces fours cases in Hebri police station, while Arvind Nayak is an accused in two cases, each in Malpe and Padubidri police stations.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Udupi SP Annamalai, police commissioner Santosh Kumar, ACP K M Chandrashekar, led by Udupi DCIB inspector T R Jaishanker, Udupi circle inspector K Srikanth, Udupi city sub-Inspector Madhu T S and staff.

    JNB, They know the bail is on the way before they are arrested!! These type of reports should be elaborate!! More knowledge on underworld and the handlers of these petty thieves!!! Any small time thief is an extortionist these days!! Shoot on their leg once so that they will be recognised and reminded lifetime!! Is it fair some people working hard whole life and some falthus with some political connections making big money and becoming people rep with the extortion money???? There is no good and bad underworld extortionist!! How this trade flourishing??? Whether police is weak or common man is weak or politicians are strong????
    Eliminate all extortion accused overnight...and watch if any extortion takes place in next 6 months!!!
