Mangaluru, Jan 29: The body of an elderly woman was found hanging by a nylon rope at Karingana of Hosabettu gram near Moodbidri on Wednesday, January 28.

The deceased is identified as Lilly Goveas (60), wife of Paul Goveas.

Paul Goveas has lodged a complaint with the Moodbidri police that his wife was murdered by their estranged son Dolphy.

It is said that Paul and his other son Stany Goveas had gone to Attur St Lawrence feast in Karkala on Wednesday January 28. Paul had telephoned home at about 11 am and when nobody responded, he telephoned their neighbours and requested them to inquire.

When the neighbours came to find out, they found the body of the woman hanging by a nylon rope tied to the wooden beam of the roof.

Sources said that there was tension between Paul, their other son Dolphy Goveas and other family members for some time. Though there was a court order restraining him from coming home, it is said that he used to come every now and then and harass his parents.

A case has been registered and investigations are on, led by inspector Anantha Padmanabha.

Mr. D'cunha, keep your comments to yourself. without knowing the family don't judge. I know this family very well. Parents worked very hard to give good future to their children, and they all are doing very well in their life including Dolpy(suspect) success and greed for money made him arrogant, which changed him completely. The family which helped him during his struggling time he did not show any respect and destroyed their happiness. This is not parents fault. Parents always strive to give good life to their children.

RIP!! Right from the time the rates of property have zoomed up, grisly fights for the same are to be found in every family!! Actually, the more one has, he is the more greedier one out to grab even not what is his!! In the melee to garner more property they have utterly no respect even to the parents forget the siblings!!

Rarely well off, generous hearted, siblings settled abroad leave their property back home to the not so well siblings still living here!!

Rightly said property and money is the cause of big problems in families where one time they lived lovingly in one large joint family not considering 'this is mine', 'I want more' attitude etc.

Times are where people use people and worship material things like wealth and property not thinking that they too will leave everything and go someday and some third party who is not worthy might be enjoying this property grabbed from some poor innocent sibling!!

If every individual each minute just thinks that he is mortal, he will become old and frail one day, and he will die will always walk softly on the Earth with all humility than resorting to gathering and hoarding crores of money and swathes of property!! Jai Hind!!

    Why curse the God.
One has to blame the parents itself. When the parents were young parents and the children were at the tender age, what the parents have sowed, inculcated the values with their own children, same fruits the parents are reaping at their old age.

Thou u sow, thou u will reap.
