Kundapur, Jan 5: Kandlur and surrounding areas which were gripped by tension following a few incidents of violence after New Year remained peaceful on Thursday January 4.  Life returned to normalcy despite fear in the minds of people.  Though there are few rumours making circle in the area, hardly anyone is paying heed to it.  However, police patrol still continues in the area especially at Kandlur, Navunda, Kirimanjeshwar etc.

Meanwhile district Muslim Federation has condemned attacks on the minority section at Kandlur, Kirimanjeshwar and other areas after Hindu samajotsav at Kundapur.  The federation has however appealed the community members not to take law in their hands or even to give heed to any rumours.  They have also asked the members of majority community to extend their cooperation in establishing peace in the area.
