Mangalore, Jan 6: The two-day-long silver jubilee celebrations of Gowda Saraswat Brahman Manhila Vrinda were inaugurated on Saturday January 6 morning.  The celebrations were inaugurated by mayor Vijaya Arun at Bhuvanendra Hall, Canara Boys’ High School here.

The mayor also inaugurated an exhibition ‘Saraswatha Loka” organized by women who have chosen self-employment after attending various courses offered by GSB.

MLA N Yogish Bhat, association honorary president Malati U Kamat and president Nirmala Kamat were also present on the occasion.

As part of the celebrations, ‘Konkani Divas’ too has been organized on Saturday evening.  Executive managing editor of popular Kannada magazine Taranga Sandhya Pai will preside over the programme while Dr Ravindranath Shanbhag of Basrur Consumer's Forum and Vidya R Shanbhag will be the chief guests.

The valedictory of the celebrations will be held on Sunday January 7 at T V Raman Pai Conference Hall at 4 pm. GSB Mahila Vranda Bangalore former president Mohini D Pai will preside while former state minister for large scale industries R V Deshpande will release a souvenir.
