Passport Mela scheduled in Mangaluru on February 14

Mangaluru, Feb 4: A Passport Mela is being organized in the city on February 14. This Mela is being held as per the specific instructions conveyed by the regional transport office at Bengaluru, towards quick disposal of passport applications.

This Mela is being organized in two centres at Bangalore besides Hubballi and Mangaluru. Registration process will begin on February 9.

A release said that more information relating to the Mela can be obtained by visiting the site, www.passportindia.gov.in through latest information provided in the link relating to Bengaluru regional passport office.

    What does word "Mela" mean in this matter?
    Is there any offer like if documents are not clear, they get some offer of giving some duplicate docs & getting the things done!??
    Is passport a normal book to be kept in "Mela"?

    peculiar attitude of the dpt.... The Passenger has travelled many times on the old passport, still the Passport dept needs the confirmation from the office of the original issue, WHAT A MENTALITY ????? and the confirmation takes more than a month in this electronic era....keep it up your performance and mental attitude !!!!!!!!

    sounds crazy , never heard any thing like this . this is a seriously important document which needs to be given only to people who are not threats to the country .

    Mela sounds like a market place to pick passports
