Muscat, Feb 14: Spandana team, in association with Majan Events, is once again pleased to unfurl yet another serenade of music, 'Shaam-e-sargam' (a fusion of melody and music).


This time, the event will encompass a confluence of filmy songs, ghazals, comedy and instrumental music for 3 hours over a lavish dinner on Friday February 13 at Sur Ballroom, Hotel Muscat Holiday, Al Khuwair.

This melodious evening is going to be a wonderful experience witnessing two versatile artistes Naveen Kumar and Prarthana Choudhury conjure musical magic with a team of acclaimed percussionists performing with their special musical instruments. The evening would surely resonate, breaking the silence of the night, very much to the delight of all music lovers.   

'Shaam-e-Sargam' will be a display of melodious intonation with beautiful hues of ghazals and folk, classical and filmy, nostalgic and instrumental. The musical convergence of these artistes in an aesthetic ambience is going to be a unique endeavour and effort of the Spandana Team. During the past 2-3 years, the zeal and interest elicited by them through their various programs has evoked passion for melodious music among the music lovers of Oman. Prarthana

Prarthana, blessed with a melodious voice and her innate passion in life as music, has traversed a great path in the journey of music. Her tryst with music starts from a very young age and has been performing since her childhood days. She was awarded the Visharad degree in Hindustani classical music when she was thirteen years old. Trained under the tutelage of her gurus, Prarthana has performed in numerous mega events across Mumbai, Delhi, Assam and the US apart from performing as a guest artiste at the 34th Assam Convention in the US. She has won acclaim, appreciation and awards from various prestigious organizations for her contribution to music.

Prarthana’s performance on Zee TV’s ‘Sona- Bhakti Ki Awaaz’- a special program on Indian devotional music, was appreciated by music stalwarts of the likes of Jagjit Singh, Anup Jalota and Sudha Malhotra. She displays versatility in her music as she has handled different genres of music like ghazals, bhajans, old and contemporary Bollywood songs, Western and Assamese music. Her 'first of its kind' video album of ghazals and geet, 'Revisting Pathos', has been appreciated by ghazal lovers all over India.

She has also been singing for Doordarshan–Guwahati, PPC-North East, All India Radio (AIR)-Guwahati, DD-Urdu and AIR-Mumbai and her music has been aired by popular TV channels. Prarthana has a couple of solo audio and video music albums to her credit.
Through her music Prarthana wishes to touch people’s hearts and regale them.

Naveen Kumar

Naveen Kumar is a multi-talented artist from Karnataka. Naveen is a versatile singer, anchor and a mimicry artist. He has given thousands of performances all over India and in many of the Gulf countries like Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Muscat.

Naveen has been a regular team member for many of the legendary artists like Dr S P Balasubramanyam, Rajesh Krishnan, Manu, Gurukiran, M D Pallavi, Mimicri Dayanand, Deva and many more. Naveen has also performed in several TV programs, the most popular ones being, 'ETV Ede Thumbi Haduvenu', 'Nadha Surabhi', 'Hadigondu Hadu' 'Chittara', 'Nithyotsava' etc.

He was also the winner of 'Comedy Kilaadigalu' co-starred with Mimicry Dayanand and has performed with Mimicry Dayanand in 'Sakkath Comedy'.

Naveen has been honored with several awards/titles, the most prestigious being 'Malenada Mari Kogile' from MSIL Bangalore, 'GV Athri Award', a famous award conferred on notable artists in the name of late Shri G V Athri, a popular singer.
