Mangalore, Jan 8: Pejawar Math pontiff Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji has vowed to fast for 24 hours on Saturday January 13 in protest against Nagarjuna Power Project.
Addressing press persons here, the pontiff criticised the Nagarjuna Power Company Limited for going ahead with the construction work at Padubidri.
He lamented the fact that the permission to the project was given by the previous government and hence the present government could not withdraw it.
He expressed his decision to talk to advocates and experts on the issue.
He will begin the fast at 9 am on Saturday January 13 and continue it till 9 am on Sunday January 14, he said.
