Mangaluru, Feb 5: DK district Congress Sevadal on Thursday February 5 congratulated health minister U T Khadar on being honoured with an award by the Kannada Sahitya Academy.

H M Ashraf, DK district chief organiser, Sevadal addressing a press meet said, "In the recently held Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Hassan district, health minister U T Khadar was felicitated with an award."

"We are proud that the state has a good legislator. State and national Sevadal has recognized this and wish him success to continue his good work further. This award has been conferred for the first time and he is a role model to other legislators. By asking more than 605 questions in the assembly he has taken part in maximum sessions.

"At a young age Khadar has become a role model for many veteran leaders. He has been working effectively in the cabinet. By traveling to many health centres throughout the state in his car and thereby taking review of people's problems personally, he has brought those problems to the government's notice. By this he has proven to be a good minister," he said.

"From the day he was sworn-in as the health minister, all the government doctors have been working hard. Whenever they did something wrong the minister did not punish them or suspend them, but through talks he made them realize their mistake. Kannada Sahitya Academy for the first time in history has presented this award. This is an example for anyone who works with full sincerity and commitment," he added.

Hema U, Nagesh Shetty, Oswald, Mohan Das, Joseph Rego, Fathima, Sahana, Prema and Gangadar were the others present at the press meet.
