Karwar: Moving bus catches fire, passengers safe

Karwar, Feb 6: A bus belonging to Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited from Goa, caught fire at Polem on Thursday, February 5.

As per reports, the state owned bus departed Karwar at 9 am and was on its way to Goa.

While reaching Polem, after crossing Majali at Goa- Karnataka border, fire was seen in the bus. It is said the reason for the fire was short circuit.

The alert bus driver and the conductor immediately stopped the bus and requested the passengers to alight, as the fire started spreading in the vehicle.

Fire brigade which arrived in time extinguished the fire. Bus was damaged beyond recognition. But all the 58 passengers travelling in the bus are safe.
