Udupi, Feb 6: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajarang Dal will jointly organize a mammoth Virat Hindu Samajotsava on March 9 at 2 pm at MGM College grounds here. VHP chief Pravin Togadia will be the main speaker at the convention.

"The Samajotsava is being organized as part of VHP’s golden jubilee celebrations," said Suprasad Shetty Baikady, district president of VHP at a press meet here on Friday February 6.

"Nearly one lac people are expected to participate in the event. A committee will be formed for Samajotsava comprising famous personalities from different fields. A massive rally will be organized from Jodukatte to MGM grounds on that day," he informed.

"International president of VHP Pravin Togadia will deliver the keynote address. Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math will be present. Dr Mohan Alva will preside over the celebration. Religious leaders from different parts of the state are expected to be part of the Samajotsava. The event will set a record," Suprasad said.

He further added, "The main purpose in organizing Hindu Samajotsava is to motivate people to become part of nation building activities and awareness about issues like love Jihad, conversion, harassment of women and cow slaughter."

Narayana Karkala, district vice-president of VHP, Diwakar Shetty, Kaup, Mattar Ganesh Kini, secretary, and Umesh Shetty were present at the press meet.
