Doha: Spectacular Qatar motor show attracts thousands

Doha Feb 8 : Jassim Saif Ahmed al- Sulaiti, Minister of Transport, along with Issa bin Mohammed al- Mohannadi, chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) opened the 5th edition of Qatar International Motor Show at the Qatar National Convention Centre on Thursday Feb 6.

The Motor Show, held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, will be open to the public from Friday until Tuesday, February 10.

After the opening, the minister toured the pavilions of all the exhibitors. He was also briefed about the new products showcased at the show. Several diplomats from various missions in the country, representatives of the exhibitors and a number of prominent citizens and invitees also were present at the inauguration.








































































Hamad al-Abdan, director of Exhibitions, QTA, said: “Qatar Motor Show and all other major events happening in Qatar support Qatar as a destination for international events. Considered as one of the premier events worldwide, Qatar Motor Show never ceases to amaze visitors with some major launches by top-notch automotive brands.”

With over 35 participating automobile brands representing the best of the global industry, the media were given bespoke presentations by the exhibiting brands and the opportunity to discuss the new models and the latest in automobile technology as well as photo-calls all through the day.

Earlier in the day, most of the participating motor companies and their dealers in the country introduced their latest models and new launches to the media.

The highlight of the event was the new product launches and reveals by brands such as Rolls Royce,Caddilac,Mercedes, BMW, Maserati, Jaguar, Audi, Land Rover, Bugatti, Nimrod, Volkswagen, Porsche, Bentley, Ford, Lamborghini, Chevrolet, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Renault, Honda, Mini and Suzuki. Many new motorcycles were also unveiled for the first time in Qatar at the exhibition.

The 5th edition of the motor show highlights some of the most creative car designs and the latest technology used in automotive industry. In addition to mid-size segments, the show also displays SUVs and motorcycles that will satisfy all the tastes.

During the show, there will be opportunities for the visitors to interact with vehicle experts and celebrities.

It is expected that the 5th edition of the Qatar Motor Show will attract a large number of visitors from Qatar and neighboring countries over the next five days.
