Mangaluru, Feb 10: Through a release, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, A B Ibrahim, who also happens to be the chairman of Regional Transport Authority (RTA), said that the RTA has begun free toll free telephone number and SMS facility for registration of complaints relating to auto rickshaws and private buses moving about in the district.
'The auto rickshaw fares and private bus fares have undergone downward revision with effect from January 12 this year. Table of fares has already been publicized. People can register their grievances relating to collection of excessive fare as compared to the published rate list, cases where auto rickshaws refuse to ply to the destinations requested by commuters, and indecent behaviour on the part of operators, by contacting toll free telephone No. 1077, or by sending SMS to cellphone No. 9481802019,' the release stated.
