Puttur, Feb 10: A man, who was required by the police in connection with the allegation of forcible abortion of pregnancy of his wife, stands arrested by the Uppinangady police. Abdul Rahiman (24),son of Ibrahim from Dontila House in Kaukrady village had been accused of forcing his wife to consume tablets for aborting her pregnancy against her wishes.

Abdul Rahiman has been charged with harassing his wife, Asma, since long. It is said that on October 11, 2014, he forced his wife to consume tablets meant for ending her pregnancy prematurely. After a complaint was filed against him, Abdul had become untraceable.

The policemen, who were following up the case, found him from Nelyady in the taluk and took him into custody on Monday February 9. He was produced in the court, upon which, he was remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
