Abdul Azeez Bajpe elected president of DKMO-Riyadh

Riyadh, Feb 10: DKMO (Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota), Riyadh, conducted its sixth annual general body meeting on January 30 at the Maqsoura conference hall of the East Ramada Hotel Batha.

Over 175 members attended the meeting representing most of the Taluk’s from south Karnataka.

DKMO–Riyadh has been a forefront association which constantly supported its community members in times of need for the last six years. DKMO has been working hard on its unique programme FRF (Family Relief Fund) scheme. So far DKMO has donated 1.5 lacs each to seven families who lost their loved ones back home.
Over the years, DKMO also provided air tickets to repatriate some ailing brothers who could not afford to pay for it. DKMO has also funded a library, print media, patients at government hospitals back home and supported poor students for their education.

DKMO further contributed and strived to collect funds for the release of an imprisoned brother in Saudi Arabia. DKMO very proudly announces that it has contributed to pursue higher education to a lady doctor.

The election meeting for the new president of the association commenced after the Friday prayers with the recitation of a verses from the Holy Quran.

Br Basheer Thalapadi compered the programme and welcomed Br Haneef NS president DKMO, Br Muzaffar Ali general secretary DKMO, Br Abbas Uchil treasurer DKMO, Br Yousuf Sakafi Baitar advisor DKMO on the dais with the chief guest Akhtar Sheikh the former Ameer of Jamaithul Falah & Br Mohammed Kunchi CEO Alif International School Riyadh.

Br Yousuf Sakafi Baitar addressed the audience by quoting verses from the Holy Quran and Ahadith to bring out the feeling of brotherhood amongst Muslims. He pointed out the qualities required of every Muslim and highlighted the guidelines of charity in light of teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Muzaffar Ali presented a comprehensive report of all the activities of DKMO. This included the reports on the DKMO’s special charity programmes like family relief fund, medical aid and education aid to all the members in Riyadh and their family back home. He also provided a detailed presentation regarding new project ANTI Dowry Campaign which is the new social programme by DKMO.

Br Abbas Uchil gave detailed presentation of financial report for the year 2013 –14 and also clarified the queries from the audience. After this, the financial statement was approved.

Chief guest of the programme Br Akhter Shaikh highlighted the importance of charity. Br Abdul Basheer president of JF Riyadh unit congratulated DKMO for its entire charitable works.

President Br Haneef NS then dissolved the existing committee with brief address and thanked the members and committee for their support during his tenure.

Br Abdul Basheer and Br Pervez Ali conducted the elections for the year 2015–16. Members were asked voluntarily to join the new committee and support in carrying out the noble task. With lot of interest 41 members joined the new committee. The office bearers for the new committee were elected unanimously and the list is as follows:

Brother Fazalur Rahemaan Gangolli facilitated the programme and thanked all the attendees and executive committee members of DKMO Riyadh for extending their support. The programme ended with the Swalath.
