Unveiling of tribal and folk culture

Kundapura, Feb 11: The department of humanities of Bhandarkars’ College is organizing a one day programme on 'unveiling of tribal and folk culture' here on Monday February 16.

Addressing media persons here on Thursday Prof G M Udayakumar, co-ordinator of this programme said that the programme includes exhibition of tribal and folk culture in different manifestations. Six different tribals will display their cultural heritage in the programme.

Dr Gangahdar Diavajna, professor, tribal study centre Kannada University Hampi, will deliver the key note address. Dr H Shantharam, administrative officer, academy of general education Manipal will preside over the inaugural function. Charulatha Somal, IAS assistant commissioner of Kundapura will be inaugurating the function.
